Le'Roy Barley - trumpet
A native of Washington, DC, Le’Roy graduated from Duke Ellington School of the Arts in June 1997. In 2001 he earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Jazz Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from North Carolina Central University located in Durham, North Carolina. He is currently studying to obtain the Masters of Music in Jazz Studies from NCCU. While attending North Carolina Central University he studied under world renowned artists Tom Browne, Dr. Ira Wiggins and Jay Meachum. Bryan Bengel - clarinet, saxophone, and trumpet
Saxophonist Bryan Alden Bengel
(b. 1987) made his concert and television debut at
the age of 17 in Meymandi Hall in Raleigh, North
Carolina, playing lead alto saxophone in the
premiere performance of the Triangle Youth Jazz
Orchestra. In the same year, Bryan was featured
twice as a concerto soloist with his high school
band. He has also taken the stage in various other
venues around the United States, including the
Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas;
the Sara M. Snell Music Theater and Helen M. Hosmer
Concert Hall in Potsdam, New York; and the Aycock
Auditorium in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Jon Boisvert - guitar
Jon Boisvert has been heavily involved in North Carolina's Triangle music scene for the past twelve years, both as a guitar teacher and performer. He has taught privately and in schools for the past fifteen years. He employs a style that is a fusion of jazz, blues, classical, rock & folk - the culmination of more than 20 years of music study. Amber Galimore - voice, piano, music therapy
During my education I have learned Classical, Broadway and Jazz styles with voice and piano. I have been involved with church groups helping special needs children with activities in music education. I have been taught, have performed, and have competed in music schools such as Stetson University and Daytona State College in Florida. Music has been apart of my life since I was eight and I have been teaching since 2004. I have recently moved to the Raleigh area and I am looking forward to beginning my work here as a teacher. I teach ages 4 and up, making music fun yet challenging and the end result is the musician is proud of themselves.
Melissa Jeffreys - flute and piano
Melissa Jeffreys has been
teaching flute and piano for nine years. She studied at
Mike Minguez - clarinet and saxophone
Mike Minguez has been playing woodwinds for
almost 50 years, and teaching about half of that time.
He is currently the Director of Jazz Studies and
Assistant Band Director at
North Raleigh Christian Academy, and holds a B.S.
in Music Education from
Bluefield State College in Bluefield, West Virginia
('77). Mike has performed with the North Carolina
Theatre for shows such as “Annie,” "Guys and Dolls",
"Funny Girl" and “The King and I.” A jazz artist, he
performs regularly at The Irregardless Cafe in downtown
Hannah Mohr - violin
Hannah has been playing
violin for 13 years and is currently pursuing a
Bachelor of Music in Music Education from
Meredith College and will be graduating in 2012.
She is a member of Meredith Sinfonietta Orchestra,
conducted by Dr. Jim Waddelow, and has studied
privately with Carol Chung, part-time North Carolina
Symphony player, for 3 years. She is president of
Retta Plunkett - piano
I began my music studies
when I was six years old with piano lessons and took
those until I was 16. At that point I switched to organ
and took lessons on that instrument for two years. I
began giving private and group lessons in 1974 and have
continued with those until the present time, teaching

Amanda Rutter - MT-BC, Music Therapy/Adaptive Lessons, Group Music Classes, Flute, Guitar, Piano
Amanda graduated from Appalachian State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy and a minor in Psychology. Amanda is available for private music therapy services (both individual and groups); creative arts play groups and private lessons on flute, piano and guitar. She has 6 years of experience working with special needs populations and especially enjoys working in physical habilitation settings with children.
